13 Ways I Can Tell I'm Getting OLDER*
*This topic was inspired by Riding the Roller Coaster

1. I can't STAND the "BOOM BOOM BOOM" sound systems in cars. Oh my gosh. I HATE them. "Oh look at me, my car vibrates and makes big boom sounds along with the bass to CRAPPY music."  Yuck...
So yea, that's definitely one way I can tell I'm getting older. I remember riding around in cars like that at one time, and semi-enjoying it.

2. MTV SUCKS. I truly hate it. First of all why is it even called MTV anymore? Isn't that supposed to stand for MUSIC TELEVISION? Where is the music videos? I mean other than the hour or so of the videos they play first thing in the morning. They need to change the name to BRSTV aka Bad Reality Show Television. In fact I used to think that VH1 was for old people, and MTV was for young people. Well they both suck now.

3. I order more than the "usual" at restaurants. Okay, I don't know why this makes me feel older. I just remember always ordering chicken fingers no matter WHERE I ate when I was younger. I feel much more mature and grown up when I order things that aren't on the children's menu.

4. I buy clothes for comfort not for style. Yea, don't know when that happened. Now don't get me wrong there are some things that I won't wear because comfort can only go so far.  *ahem* crocs *ahem* And if you can find comfortable that's cute than MAJOR SCORE, but anywho...I remember the days of uncomfortable shoes that made my calves ROCK, or too tight jeans that created an illusion that I actually have an ass. Well no more. I no longer believe in suffering for fashion. And that kinda makes me feel old. Not just older, but flat out OLD.

5. I can't get by with having a snickers bar, and a coca cola for lunch. Not without having indigestion, a stomach ache, heartburn, and gaining 5 lbs.

6. I cook and eat more than ramen, mac 'n cheese, grilled cheese, and soup. I still eat that stuff, don't get me wrong, lets just say my culinary skills have expanded massively. Which in-turn makes me feel much more grown-up.

7. I love Seinfield. This is sad for me because this show no longer airs and I can only watch reruns. I used to hate Seinfield. I didn't "get it". Well I get it now. And it's flippin' FUNNY!!! You know, I'll even do a twofer and add in I laugh at the Golden Girls. Have you watched that show?! It's so funny! I never knew it was funny, and it so is... granted I've only seen bits and pieces, but it made me laugh. I never even knew it was a comedy...

8. I have noticed that my priorities have changed. Family comes first no matter what. Friends come and go, but family is forever. No one will ever love you more. No one will be there for you unconditionally. But family will.

9. My tastes in music have changed. While I still LOVE music, I have noticed a big change in my tastes for tunes. I have noticed that "music" I once LOVED I can't even listen to anymore. It's not only awful, it's unbearable. It doesn't even deserve to be called music. It's disgusting. And I'm ashamed to have ever liked it.

10. I couldn't care LESS about "status". I don't HAVE to have that purse because it's made by the designer that everyone loves right now, I don't mind waiting for movies to get to the $1.50 theater to see them, and I don't care that "so-and-so" drives this, or spent that.

11.  I love coffee. Granted, I like a little coffee with my cream and sugar. I also LOVE, LOVE, LURV Cappuccino Blasts from Dunkin Donuts. It makes me feel totally adultish to love something with coffee in it. Only really mature adults drink coffee. I'm totally a super mature adult now.

12. I *gulp* don't get carded anymore. The last time I was carded, the guy said, "That's a really good picture...", I thanked him and told him how much I hated it. He preceded to tell me he just meant that it really looked like me, not that it was a good picture. Gee thanks. Then he told me that no matter how much weight you gain or lose you always look the same in the eyes. Even if you dye your hair, etc. I mean, WHAT was he trying to tell me?!

13. I use Facebook and not MySpace. Haha! This makes me laugh. I'm not sure when it happened, but somewhere along the way MySpace started sucking, and facebook starting rocking. It seems like you don't realize that MySpace sucks and facebook is better until you reach a certain age. And now that I have reached that age, I feel grown-up.

What Goes On? In Thursday Thirteen Style...

Today is the last day of second grade for Joshua! In a few short months I will be the mama of a 3rd grader and kindergartner. And a spunky, crazy 2 year old. It makes my heart ache in a bittersweet way. :) I MUST get my butt in gear and upload the photo's of Miss Hailey's preschool graduation!

It has been soooooo long since I posted a Thursday Thirteen! I thought I would post one today to share what I have been up to lately. :)

1. Catching up on a whole lot of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. I can't help it! I caught a rerun and got sucked in and the next thing I know it's a MARATHON leading up to the season finale! Don't judge me...

2. Doing some hardcore move watching. So far I've caught up on Orphan, A Haunting in Connecticut, and Legion. I'll pretty much have to do a whole separate post "reviewing" those movies.

3. I am THISCLOSE to finishing up the family bulletin board. I literally only have one more thing to print out and put up on the board. Pics will be up soon, I promise. :)

4. I've begun cooking again! Which will hopefully lead to more Tasty Tuesday posts. :)

5. I've been reading again as well. Which has been great. Right now I'm on
"The New Dare to Discipline", and "Spirit Bound".

6. I've been dabbling in some new hobbies! One of which is polymer clay. I haven't gotten to play with it as much as I would like, but I hope to more this summer. :)

7. I did a maternity shoot over the weekend. It was fun, and I got some cute shots. Although I DID lose my lens cap, and we both about got eaten alive by mosquitoes. lol

8. I have acquired and have been battling an addiction to Bojangles. It's awful. I mean actually it's delicious, but the intensity that I crave this food is AWFUL! ESPECIALLY considering it's FAST FOOD, which means fried and fatty, and even worse it's SPICY. Which all equals up to one thing: DELICIOUSLY-OH-SO-YUMMY!

9. I am already missing Grey's, and Modern Family, and all my other shows. :( I HATE the summer season.

10. I have been wondering what is up with Joe Jonas' glasses? Does he need them? Did he used to wear contacts? I'm rusty on my Jonas knowledge. You know, 'cause I'm 25 and all. I mean they're cool and all, I'm just curious.

11. Has it REALLY been 2 months since my last Thursday Thirteen?! Where has the time gone?! How is it JUNE?!?!?!?!?! How is Hailey done with preschool and Joshua done with second grade?!?!? THERE IS NO WAY LEAH IS THIS CLOSE TO TURNING TWO! *sobs* Okay, that's enough of that meltdown. I'm sorry, I'm just in serious disbelief. I've been kinda in denial or a daze or something. Not ready for this! Or am I?!

12. KE$HA used to be okay. And when I say okay I mean, I didn't ALWAYS change the radio when she came on. {Just most of the time.} But ever since I saw her video to "Your Love is my Drug" I am just like DOUBLE YOU TEE EFF?!?!?!?!Get off the friggin' airwaves!!! So obviously one of the things I have been doing is not liking her anymore.

13. I'm sick. Surprise! Surprise! Right? What else is new?! I'm always sick, or injured. What the crap. I hate it. It's not right. It's just 100% major suckage. And I'm not just sick, I'm like REALLY sick. So sick it took me like 3 hours to type this. I'm dizzy and lightheaded, and when I try and do stuff my heart rate goes through the roof and I'm in so much pain! Super mega sad face. :(

Thursday Thirteen! 4.8.10

Thirteen Things You May Not Know About Me

1. I ♥ Oreo's dipped in Orange Juice. I prefer Golden Oreo's for OJ dippage, but I would settle for Original as well. Before you knock it, try it! It's fantastic.

2. I have to sleep with a fan on. A LOUD fan. Preferably a loud box fan. I cannot get by with just a fan for the cool blowing air, or just a fan for the white noise, it has to be the combination of the two.

3. I have an awful habit if getting my fingers stuck in small holes. If I see a hole, some small, and apparently stupid, part of my brain says, "See if you can fit your finger in there!" So I do. Then I get stuck. I am probably the only person on the planet to win an award for "The Only Person To Get Her Arm Stuck in a Bed". True story.

4. Chairs hate me. I cannot go a full week without having some sort of mishap with a chair. I fall out of them, break them, trip over them, kick them, get stuck in them, etc. It just may be possible that I have a chair mishap every day! But I'm not positive about that.

5. You could take 5 different pictures of me, and I would look like 5 different people. In a day. Okay maybe not a day, but if I showed you 5 different pictures of me over the past 5 years I would totally look like 5 different people. Heck, I'll even shorten that time frame to 4 years, and make it SIX photo's!
If you want, you can even head on over to my About Me and see ANOTHER pic where I look like ANOTHER different person! The only thing that give it away is the dimple. You HAVE to agree that if it weren't for the dimple you wouldn't know it was the same person! Right?!?!

7. I have a very addictive personality apparently, and since I don't use recreational drugs, or alcohol, I project my addictions on to other things. Not only do I develop unhealthy obsessions with things, but as soon as I drop one habit, I'm quickly moving on to the next!

8. Some addictions I have acquired, and then dropped over the past year are:
Farmville
Yoville
Petville
Scrapbooking
DIGI Scrapbooking
Several Forums
and Diet Dr. Pepper!
(It would have been so cool if what's his name from The Cleaner aided me in my recovery, but it would have also been weird. Right? Funny too.)

9. A few things I will most likely, probably, never drop:
Diet Coke, photography, zombies, and blogging.

10. My newest addiction? CARAMEL CAPPUCCINO BLAST from Baskin Robbins. Oh my goodness, oh.my.goodness, those things are like crack to me. I can't even imagine the weight I'm going to gain before I'm able to kick this one.

11. I hate bubble gum. Bubble gum is evil. All gum is evil. Can't stand it. It's not the flavor, I love the flavor. (Of some.) And it's not the smell, many smell delicious. To me it the sound. The texture. The feel of it in my mouth. *Shutters* I can't STAND to be around someone smacking their gum. It's one thing that I find I can't bite my tongue on very often. Ugh, disgusting.

12. This is not something I am necessarily PROUD of, but since there really isn't anything else on the list I am PROUD of I figured I would share something that may be surprising to some, and not at all surprising to others. I am a champion belcher. Yes you read that correctly. I am the burping queen! Not with the frequency, I don't burp al lthe time, everyday, but with the size and volume. When I do let one, it is a BIG one. But I am appropriate and know when to belch, and when not to.

13. My favorite number just so happens to be 13! Which is why I do Thursday Thirteen, and not Thursday Thirty. Besides, who could come up with several lists containing 30 things?! I have a hard time coming up with THIRTEEN!
