Babyzilla

I was off this morning. Way off.

When asked, "How big is baby?", I put, "I'm guessing just over 3 lb's, and 16" or 17". " Well I have no idea how long little G is, but he's not 3 pounds.

Baby Center says he should weigh almost 3lb's for 30 weeks. The Bump says 2.5-3.8 lb's.

I am 30 weeks along today, by fundal height {aka the size of my uterus} I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead, at 32 weeks. Grayson? Well Grayson is measuring in between 33w4d and 34w1d. He is in the 95th %tile, and weighing in at a whopping 4 pounds 9 ounces.

To put this in perspective, {my neice} Brinley went home from the hospital weighing that exact weight. She was 5 weeks early. I still have 9 weeks until my c-section. Also babies usually triple their weight between now and birth, putting on 1/2 to 1 lb. a week. That would put Grayson weighing around 13.5 lb's.

Holy. Cow.

There is a chance he will level out to lower weight. But he's definitely not going to be a 7 pound baby. Probably not even 8.

THANK GOD I am having a repeat c-section. But the thought of carrying around so much baby in my belly scares the ever loving bejesus out of me. I feel like I'm getting payback for being born weighing 11lb 2oz.

I said all along I had a feeling he was going to be my 11 pounder. My little linebacker. I have big babies, but I think he will take the cake. {Literally, he will probably be born crying for cake.}

Seriously though, 8, 9, 15 pounds? I don't care as long as he's healthy. I don't want another little one in the NICU.

I will say this...it certainly explains his chubby chubster cheeks! ^_^

Here are some cute pics of babyzilla's beautiful profile, and his ginormous babyzilly foot:

{Look at those little lips puckered up! He had literally just been sucking his toes! ^_^}

{Look at that perfect, and HUGE, foot!}

And me:

 30 Weeks

At least I now have an excuse as to why I'm SO INCREDIBLY HUGE! ^_^

Awesome Baby Finds {My Must Haves}

I think I've done well at keeping the blog depregerfied, but you best believe when little G arrives it's going to baby posts GALORE! {Just a little over 9 weeks to go!}

Annnnnyway, like any expecting mama I google. Google, and read. Google, and read, and search, and then read some more.

And I find stuff. Awesome baby stuff. Stuff I'm 99% sure I HAVE to have. Some things have been stumbled upon while browsing the amazing land of etsy, or found in a google search discovery, or recommended by other mama's, or shared by other bloggers. Either way, one way or another I've found them, and I must have them. Little G NEEDS them people. {He needs them.}

You might be expecting a little bundle, and you might just find that your little one needs them too.

So I am unselfishly sharing them with you.

You may now bask in the awesomeness....

1 Owl ABC Learning Blocks

 These are the cutest. Every baby needs alphabet blocks, and these are amazing. Aren't they?

2 Sophie the Giraffe

Apparently this is the MUST HAVE teether, and celebs love it and buy it galore for their celeb babies. I just happened to come across it in a blog and thought it was the cutest dern thing ever. I didn't realize it was so popular until I googled.

3 Zombie Doll

Okay. I'm probably the only mom that would appreciate this. But Grayson needs a zombie doll to cuddle and love and make his own.

4 Nesting Owls

These were just cutie patootie. They can be used as a decoration, or played with. I used to love nesting dolls when I was a wee one. Are they making a comeback?

5 Skip Hop Treetop Friends Activity Gym

LOVE, love this. I need a boyish mat like this, Leah's is pink, purple, and flowers, and it just won't do. This is TOO amazingly cute, and G NEEDS it.

6 Onesie and Baby Legs Set

This was shared with me. I. Love. It. Is it not the cutest? Ugh, can't wait to have little chubby legs to stuff in those baby legs, and a chubby belly to stuff in that onesie.

7 {The Most Awesomest} Owl Quilt

I seriously have an obsession with quilts lately. I'm dying to know how to quilt now. LOVE this one for obvious reasons. There are a few more that I would love to commission my mother to make.

8 Custom Sneaker Name Print

{It would say Grayon of course. Duh. But I definitely would love all my kiddo's names.} Is that not the coolest?

Do you see a recurring theme? Yes. I'm a little owl crazy. Love them. Shoot me. I don't care. I loved them before they were the coolness, and now that they're the coolness they're so easy to find that I love swimming in all my owl finds. {I have tons.}

Growing a Stash

 No, I'm not trying to emulate the phenomenal Tom Selleck by growing a mustache in his honor. No, if that were the case I would just buy one of these:
{Ummm, okay now I kinda want one of these....}

Anyway, as I was saying...

I am growing a stash! A stockpile so-to-speak. A stockpile/stash of fluffliness aka cloth diapers. Remember me saying in my big cloth diapering reveal, "I've been buying a diaper here and there."?? No? Really? Well I said it. {It was in reference to CD's being expensive.}

Well folks, I am OFFICIALLY DONE buying here and there! Well...for now. I've got 12 diapers ready to go.

Wanna know what I'm packing? No? Well I'm showing you anyway:

 Look, they barely fit in my bag!

I've gotten the majority of my stash from Jack Be Natural. Jack Be Natural is an AMAZING business I have been VERY lucky and blessed to have found. They're family owned and operated, and I honestly have never dealt with such outstanding customer service in my LIFE. Seriously, if you cloth diaper, plan to CD, or just have questions about CD'ing Jack Be Natural needs to be your first stop. They seriously deserve a post all in there own...that's definitely coming.

A few I've gotten from Amazon using gift cards I've received from redeeming Swagbucks!
Search & Win

I use my Swagbar to search instead of google, or to get to my everyday sites, like Facebook, blogger, etc. and I earn enough swagbucks to "buy" a couple $5 Amazon.com gift cards each month. It's not only free money, it's easy money. And I've yet to find a "catch".

Anyway, back to cloth diapers.

I'm 12 diapers in, and will be adding 12 more. 24 diapers should give me a big enough stash to wash every other day. As you can see from my list, I have lots of different kinds of diapers. I have mostly pocket diapers and all-in-ones, and one hybrid. They're all one-size. What I plan on doing is trying them all out, and seeing which I like best. Whichever I like best I will be finishing out my collection in.

I'm super excited to have a wee one to try them out on so that I can start posting reviews on each make of diaper I own. I want to share as much as possible of my cloth diapering experience. I would love to help other mama's make the jump from disposables to cloth!

If you have any CD ?'s I will try my best to either answer them, or point you in the right direction!

Writers Workshop: A Memorable Sleeper...Sleep Wa....errr...Eater I Mean. Or both...whatever...

Mama’s Losin’ It

It's hard to say when it all really started. I remember waking up to piles of wrappers. Sometimes I would literally wake up IN piles of wrappers. Other times they would litter my bedside table and the floor beside my bed. Then I began noticing other signs. Open cabinet doors, empty boxes scattered on the kitchen floor...snacks had begin disappearing in the night.

I didn't really understand what was going on. I remember having strange dreams. One night I dreamt that I held up a local Wendy's. But instead of taking money behind the cash register, I sat on the floor behind the counter and ate all of the food. Finally one night I became semi-conscious to what was happening. I remembered waking up, walking to the kitchen and retrieving a package of Double Stuft Oreo's. I preceded to down half of the package. I remember just standing at my kitchen island shoving one Oreo after another in my mouth, as though I couldn't get them in fast enough. It was the strangest thing, and oddest feeling. I knew I was doing this, but I couldn't stop myself. It was as though I was watching myself, or having an out of body experience. I thought, I MUST be having another wacked out eating dream like the Wendy's robbery. But when I woke the next morning the evidence, a half empty package of Oreo's, stood glaring at me with hard proof upon my kitchen island. Finally I couldn't deny what was staring me in my face.

I had been sleep eating.

I've been told throughout my life funny stories of my sleep talking or sleep walking. I never once remembered saying or doing the things I was told I said or did. I would just laugh it off. After all I knew other sleep walkers and talkers, it wasn't that big of deal. And it really wasn't all that uncommon.

But sleep eating? Eating in my sleep?? This wasn't normal. This wasn't something I could laugh about. {Although I have laughed about it with close friends on occasion.} This was embarrassing. Was I really so addicted to food that my addiction was carrying over into my SLEEP? What was causing this? Why was I doing this to myself?!

To be honest, I still don't know. I've never had any sleep studies done. It's never gotten to the point where I felt I was putting myself in danger, and it's not something I do ALL of the time. Poor Mel has woken up to the clang of a metal spoon on a porcelain bowl while I sat beside him, eating cereal in my sleep though, so he has lost a little sleep to it. I also found myself eating not-so-good things. I've tried using child locks on the cabinets. Which don't really work because if I know how to open them when I'm awake, I can open them when I'm asleep. So we used the most aggravating, hard to open locks we can find. And it worked! But not really...instead of grabbing cabinet foods, I was eating weird things like tubs of butter or sour cream. {Just the thought makes me want to gag.}

My biggest triggers are stress, going to bed hungry, and dieting. {Usually when I'm dieting, I'm going to bed hungry.} I'm sure I do it more than I'm aware. I'm sure there's not always going to be evidence to see that I've spent another night eating. As far as how OFTEN I do it? I honestly have no idea what-so-ever. I thinks it's safe to say at LEAST once a week, but I really don't know. I know I go through cycles where I'm doing it more than usual. These are times when I'm usually stressed to the max for whatever reason.

This is probably my biggest confession of all time. It's not something I share with everyone. Only my closest friends and family know. And we laugh about poor Mel waking to the clanging of my cereal bowl. But it's just not something I've liked sharing.

Is there anything you do that others may find weird? Come on, help me out and help me feel like not so much of a weirdo! ^_^

{This was written after seeing Mama Kat's Writing Prompts for this week. The prompt was: "What is going on in the bedroom? Describe a memorable sleeper."}

Diabeetus Update

{I have to do this 4 times a day. It sucks. And my fingernails aren't nearly this pretty.}

The first week I made diabeetus my bitch.

Or so I thought.

My glucose levels ROCKED during the day, and I could basically eat what I wanted! I even begin wondering if I had been misdiagnosed. {Because there's no way I can eat a cajun filet biscuit, seasoned fry, and large sweet tea and STILL be under 130. Yes...it was Bo Time.}

But the truth is....diabeetus was making ME it's bitch! I couldn't get my fasting numbers down. But...I wasn't really fasting. I was having my 2am or 4am snack. So I stopped with the snack. But my numbers were still above 100. Too high for a fasting number. So I thought that I must be sleep eating again. {Yea, sleep eating, that's a post in itself, and I'm surprised and shocked it hasn't been discussed. Most likely due to the humility of it all.}

Then something bad started happening. My numbers started going up. Way up. So I started eating better. But my glucose levels were NOT getting any better.

You see. While I failed my GD test, my diabetes hadn't really fully kicked in yet. So that's why even though I was eating like a non-diabetic pig, I was still getting low glucose levels. My body was still producing the insulin it needs. But what happens in gestational diabetes is that the further along you get, and the bigger your placenta gets, it begins screwing with your pancreas, and then totally screws with the insulin, and then your body throws it's hands in the air, and gives up, and your left unable to keep your glucose levels under control. You are now diabetes' bitch.

I had hit the point where my placenta was an insulin blocking monster.

When my numbers started going up, I started being REALLY good. I was following my diet to the T. But I was still struggling with my glucose levels. So I basically cut out my carbs all together. FINALLY my fasting numbers came into the range they belonged, and my regular numbers were low. I did so well for  a few days that I'm now slowly working carbs back into my diet.

I'm not supposed to be COMPLETELY carb free, just very low. The diet, or "meal plan" I should say is the Jovanovic Meal Plan, and it's purpose is to keep your blood sugars in the range they need to be so that you don't give birth to a 15lb toddler. {If you have gestational diabetes.}

So far so good! My numbers are right where they need to be.

I know the diabeetus and I will be at war over the next several weeks. But in the end I know I will be the victor and DIABETES WILL FOREVER BE MY BITCH.

PS} I am so, so, so, so, so, SO, SO, SOOOO thankful that I only have to deal with this for 2 months, and not FOREVER. And I know it's pretty much certain I will end up with type II, and that's going to suck, but if there's ANYthing I can do to prevent it, I will.

PPS} I have yet to meet Wilferd Brimley. Boo. And medXpress, which is kinda like Liberty Medical doesn't take my insurance. So I have to go to Walgreens, or Target. I don't get my diabetic supplies to my door which is bullshit. So Wilfred Brimley, if you read this, hook me up man!

Happy EASTER To All....and to all a good night...

Last year I thought I had failed at Easter because I was shopping for Easter basket fillings, Easter eggs, and candy at 4 in the friggin' morning.

But no. Last year was an EASTER WIN!

The kiddo's woke up to Easter baskets, we attended an awesome Easter church service, and had an awesome Easter lunch with our family, followed by our yearly Easter egg hunt. It was great.

This year?

Well, I did have the Easter baskets full and ready, set out the night before. And I DID have candy filled eggs, just waiting to be hidden and hunted by excited children!

But they were never hunted.

We never made our way to church, I didn't spend time with family over an amazing Easter feast, and I didn't have a blast chasing the kids through the yard snapping away on my camera while they hunted their eggs in their beautiful Easter get up.

Nope.

I woke up sicker than spit. My throat hurt so bad. My glands? Swollen, and painful as spit. It sucked.

The kiddos got their baskets. But did I get to see, or capture the joy on their faces as they wiped the sleep from their eyes and discovered their toy filled baskets of candy and heaven?! No. :( I didn't get to join them for an amazing Easter service at church, or run around the yard capturing my kiddos happiness as they collected hidden eggs.

I was stuck in bed, and on the couch. Talking with an almost drunken slur caused by the pain from my swollen lymph nodes.

I painfully endured a delicious breakfast prepared by my loving hubby of bacon and eggs, and toast, and watched Megamind with my babies. A gift from the Easter bunny. So despite things, it was as good a day as possible. And Joshua and Hailey did get to hunt their eggs, at their grandparents house. So not all was lost.

And the candy. The kids chowed on some candy, you best believe it.

And of course the true meaning behind Easter wasn't lost. Joshua received "The Action Bible" from the Easter bunny and we read the Easter story about Jesus dying for us, and then rising again. It was awesome.

Happy Earth Day!

someecards.com - I will always care about the environment until it's no longer trendy.

I could have blogged about so many Earth Dayish and environmentally friendly things today. In retrospect I TOTALLY could have saved my cloth diaper revelation for today. Fitting huh? But I'm so not a hippy that I don't have anything eco-friendly to blog about. Being green is basically low in the list of reasons why I'm going cloth.

Earth Day just makes me feel guilty.

Guilty Earth day confessions:
  • We take our own trash to the dump, so we don't recycle.
  • I drink bottled water. {In my defense, our well water isn't drinkable, so using the reusable bottles isn't an option. But I COULD buy big huge bottles of water instead of the smaller ones....}
  • I sleep with a fan on, major energy suck.
  • I don't unplug my cell phone charger when it's not in use.
  • I don't shop at Whole Foods or Trader Joes.

BUT

  • I love polar bears.
  • I used recycled products as often as possible.
  • I turn the lights off when I leave the room.
  • I don't use styrofoam products.
  • Last year we had our own vegetable garden.
  • I love Chipotle, and they use organic foods and are a "green" restaurant.
  • I love organic and bamboo tees, blankets, and fabrics because they're so soft.
  • Oh, and we're TOTALLY cloth diapering little G!

Earthquake? Tornado? Natural Disaster? Nope. Just a 2 year old.

 {Excuse the mess, it's Spring Break, and a rainy day. Nuff said.}

Today was a devastatingly sad, sad, SUPER SADS day for me. My much loved curio cabinet was demolished. Holding all things precious and treasured by me. {Well, all non-living things.} A decades collection of Lennox Tinkerbells now lay shattered and ruined. Two very special Jim Shore wood carvings are in pieces.

Oh my beautiful chotchkies. *SOBS*

I'm not even sure what happened. I just saw the curio on it's way down, and had barely enough time to scream to Leah to get out of the way. No doubt she would have been very seriously injured, if not killed. I am BEYOND thankful that wasn't the case. In fact I was so relieved she wasn't hurt that it took several minutes for me to even be care that all my pretties were know smashed to smithereens.

That is...until I picked up the cabinet to survey the damage.

First, and foremost, I did what I did when all disasters occur; I called Mel and begged him to come home. Of course he couldn't. But he warned me not to try and pick up anything if it was heavy, and to get help from Joshua.

Luckily it wasn't heavy at all. Joshua and I were able to lift it up and put it back in place. It was practically broken in half, the mirror in the back is cracked, and there is damage on the inside. There is also a broken handle. Oh and somehow the fall made it REALLY dirty and covered in fingerprints. Weird huh?

 {Yea, did NOT realize it needed a good pledge cleaning until I'm here posting to the world. Eek.}

Once lifted, I got a view of the damage and broke down. I couldn't help it. I'm already a hormonal mess, and this was REALLY upsetting to me! This cabinet held some of my most prized and loved possessions! Not to sound materialistic, but they were special to me. Gifts from my sisters, gifts that symbolized the birth of my children, gifts from my husband that he bought on our honeymoon. Yes, they're just THINGS, but they are special and irreplaceable things. My pretty things that I liked to look at. It breaks my heart.

I was able to separate out the pieces into baggies, and most will be able to be super glued together if I'm able to keep a steady hand. Thank goodness for that. But some were just purely demolished.

Poor Leah was so apologetic and sorry. I was just so thankful she was okay. It could have ended in an ambulance ride.

RIP my collection of pretties:

{Some of the random things were things hidden on top of the cabinet.}

{Ew, I don't know why an empty box of cigarettes was on top of the cabinet. lol}

I will add that I am SO, so glad I moved my Willow Tree collection to my entertainment center along with my vintage camera. That would have sucked even MORE. Vintage damage is much more devastating. {IMO}

Ugh. It really downright SUCKS!!!! I hope I'm able to superglue everything like I said, but holy crap, I'm not a super gluing wizard genius. I need to acquire some mad gluing skills like asap. My poor, poor Tinks. *sigh* SUPER SADS

Before & After Blog Hop | 4.21.11

I haven't linked up a "Before and After" in A G E S. I was looking for a pic of my niece to use in her birthday post and came across one from a session I had done for my sister's family  waaaaay back in October.

I loved the photo, but it needed a few things. After some exposure fixing in DPP I brought it into PS CS5 and fixed it up. The first thing I did was get rid of the rogue hair under her left eye. Then I brightened, sharpened, added some contrast and cleared up her beautiful eyes. Pretty basic stuff, norm for my workflow.

If you have a Before and After you would like to share head on over and see Monica at Pixel Perfect and Link-Up!

Happy Birthday B!

5 years ago today my beautiful neice Brinley came into this world. {As almost as reluctantly as her older cousin.} I don't know the ENTIRE story, and my version may not be as accurate, but Brinley was born when my sister's water broke 5 weeks early after several weeks of bed rest. After trying to get Brinley out D ended up in the operating room, with a c-section. Unfortunately when D was cut, she FELT it and ended up being knocked out.

Brinley was TINY just a hair over 5lb's, with lots of beautiful brown hair. She was a tiny beautiful little baby. {I don't know what I could do with a 5lb baby. I would feel like I would break the fragile little thing!}

Anyway, that was 5 years ago today. And Brinley is pretty much the same. She's still a tiny little thing, with long beautiful brown hair. As tiny as she is, she's got some spunk. Probably my fave things she's ever said to me?

"I make volcano's, and then I punch them in their face."

She cracks me up. She is one of the girliest girls I know. I think when you're tiny and dainty being girly comes with the territory. She can walk in heels better than I can, and probably where's make-up more than I do. When she and Hailey get together it's like "Return of the late 80's early 90's Vally Girl", but with a 5 and 6 year old.

It worries me what they will be like as teens...

Anyway, just wanted to wish my one and only niece the happiest of birthday's from blogland!

*gasp* CLOTH DIAPERS!!

This post has been brewing for some time.

My name is Brianne, and I am addicted to fluffy mail. You either know what fluffy mail is, or you don't. And if you know what it is...then you KNOW. And you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Fluff=Cloth=Cloth Diapers

When I was pregnant with Leah I really wanted to try cloth diapers. Why? Well, originally because THEY'RE FREAKING CUTE! But more so to save money. Mel just wasn't on board. I brought it up once or twice to "test the waters" so-to-speak and he just didn't seem too hot on the idea. Of course, he's one of those husbands that when it came down to it, he would let me do whatever I wanted, and support me in it. But I could tell deep down, he was NOT into to. So, while a little sad, I dropped the issue.

From then on, I was always a little intrigued by cloth diapers. I noticed more people using them here and there, and felt myself drawn to reading about them, and asking questions to CD using moms.

When I became pregnant with Grayson I knew I REALLY wanted to go forward with cloth diapering. I knew the only way I could really convince Mel was to learn as much as possible and in doing so educate him as much as possible. After filling him in as much as possible I finally convinced him. The only concern he had was laundry. He knows how much I HATE laundry, and said he just worried about me being able to keep up with it. Our washer and dryer were old, and didn't do the best of job cleaning our cloths. The dryer down right sucked and took up to 3 cycles sometimes to dry a load. If I didn't stay on top of the laundry and do at LEAST a load or two a day it got very overwhelming, very quickly.

A solution came when Mel bought me an AWESOME new washer and dryer!!! {Our 4 wheeler had been stolen, and we were blessed that home owners covered it. We were able to use the money for the washer & dryer.} Our new washer & dryer can do several days of laundry in just two loads! Once laundry wasn't such a big issue anymore Mel seemed even more open to the idea.

I waited before telling my family, and when I did, I didn't get the best reactions. But I can't really blame them. They had legitimate concerns, and questions, and really had NO idea what modern day cloth diapering was like. {I'm pretty sure they were picturing gerber prefolds, with diaper pins, and huge plastic pants that leaked like crazy.} Fortunately their opinions didn't matter much to me. THEY weren't the ones doing the diapering. I was.

So why have I decided to go cloth with my 4th, and last baby?! Lots of reasons!

1. Green. I'm not what you would call a "green" mom, but I think my carbon footprint is PLENTY big enough after having 3 kids in diapers.

2. Money. It really does save a LOT of money. Jack Be Natural has a great chart breakdown for this. Basically, after the expense of the diapers themselves, accessories, the cost of washing & drying, I am saving over $2200. {Even more so because I'm using one size diapers that can be used from birth to potty training, and because the diapers I am choosing have a great resale value.} I really wish I had done this in the beginning, I could have diapered FOUR kids on one stash and saved over 9 grand in the long run!

3. Chemicals. There's a lot of controversy on this. But I've personally had horrible experiences with Pampers Dry Max in particular leaving burn like rashes on Leah. I've seen the rashes on my kids caused by disposables, and I can't help but think that cloth could really prevent this.

4. Softness. Have you felt a cloth diaper? They're STUPID SOFT. I can't help but imagine it would feel soooooo much better than a papery, plasticy, disposable diaper. Seriously. And I would think a comfortable baby=a happy baby.

5. Blow outs. I have read time after time after time that cloth diapers are the BEST at containing blow outs. Especially those that breast fed babies are famous for. I can't tell you HOW many outfits were RUINED from blowouts, and I have so many stories of HORRIBLE blow outs happening while out and about! I couldn't help but be intrigued when I found out that cloth diapers are rock stars at containing these explosions!

6. Potty Training. I've also read countless times that often cloth diapered babies potty train sooner. With cloth they're able feel that they are wet and are more apt to want to use the potty. Where as disposables soak up all the pee leaving them feeling dry and content in a dirty diaper.

7. Cuteness. I'm not going to lie, cloth diapers are cute! And that does have a part in why I'm so excited to wrap up Grayson's bum in a cloth diaper! There are SO many cute patterns out there, and even just the plain colors are tons cuter than any disposable I've ever seen.

So, those are my main reasons for CD'ing.

Now I will answer some questions that I've gotten of, "WHY?!?!?! on earth would I want to do this??". {Remember, I'm not ACTUALLY cloth diapering yet, so I can only answer from personal opinion, and from what I've read, not from actual experience.}

1. "You're going to put POOP in your washer?! That's disgusting..."

Actually once Grayson gets to the nasty poop stage it will be rinsed into the toilet and flushed away. Very little of the actual nasty poop will get into the wash. No more than the skid marks my kids and your kids already have in the their underwear. If you've ever exclusively breastfed a baby, you know their poop is far from nasty. It doesn't even smell, and it's actually water soluble. If there's a lot, I may rinse it into the toilet, if not it will just go in the pail until wash day. And if you've ever had a breastfed baby, then you've had a blow out. Did you not wash those poopy clothes in your washer? What's the difference?

2. "Good luck finding a baby sitter."

Anyone that knows me knows that I very, VERY rarely use a baby sitter in the first place. {And when I do, it's always family.} But for the very few times I will, there are VERY easy cloth diapers that are "dad, grandparent, and baby sitter" friendly. They go on JUST like a disposable. The sitter will have a bag provided for the dirty diaper, and can change it just like a disposable. Instead of throwing the dirt diaper away, you put it in a wetbag, instead of putting a disposable on, you put a cloth diaper on. It's really not rocket science. There's also hybrids that can be used with disposable liners that CAN be thrown away if they do happen to be THAT worried about dealing with a dirty cloth diaper.

3. "Won't that stink up your house?"

My house already stinks. LOL Honestly, at this point, I really don't know. But I can honestly say I've never heard of someone having a stink issue unless there was a problem somewhere with something. If you're using the right pail and right liner and caring properly for everything, there should be no issue what-so-ever with stink. I would think that they would smell a heck of a lot less than disposables because you're flushing the stinky poop down the toilet.

4. "They're so expensive! How will you afford them?!"

When you sit down and google cloth diapers you may be surprised to see how much they cost. $20 or more for a diaper?!?!? What?!?! But when it comes down to it, you are truly saving money over time. {Like I said above, over $2200!} Yes, it IS an investment, but it pays for itself in NO TIME. Plus you don't HAVE to lay down a ton of cash at one time. Personally, we can't afford to do that! I've been buying a diaper here and there. The good thing about pregnancy is having 9 months to prepare.

I will be starting out in disposables. I have a couple packages stocked up from the few weeks before I fully decided to use cloth. We're using one size diapers that fit from 8-40 lb's, but all babies are different and the one size sometimes don't fit until 10 or 11lb's and the baby has had time to chunk up. So we'll be using disposables until the OS's fit really well. We'll be transitioning over slowly, and will be using that time to finish out our stockpile.

There are SO MANY choices out there that it's hard to know which cloth diaper is the right one for you. So I've been buying several different kinds. Once we see what works best for us I will finish out our collection with that type of diaper.

I've found GREAT support in cloth diapering friends, and mommy forums that have boards for CD'ing. I don't think I would have ever fully made my decision without them, and I know I will need them during the first few months. Not to mention a REALLY awesome local store run by a great momma that devotes tons of time answering a MILLION questions for newbies. {She even has a cloth diapering class once a month.}

If you are curious about cloth diapering I HIGHLY suggest the following sites/blogs:

Jack Be Natural

Baby Makin(g) Machine

O Momma Writes

If you have any questions I will do my best in answering them! But please no mean opinions. They're not wanted and will be ignored and deleted.

I'm sure once little G comes along I will be blogging about my cloth journey and all the trials and tribulations sure to accompany the new lifestyle, so you can check back and laugh at me along the way.

Birth Announcements

I'm working on birth announcement these days. I figure whatever I don't use I can just add to the shop. I will be adding ideas and designs here and there! Here are the first couple I came up with...

BLUE: Shutter Love Tuesday

This handsome little guy is my nephew Milo. {I don't share enough of him or my niece Brinley on my blog.} He's always had the BLUEST eyes. So of course I had to use a pic of him for this Shutter Love Tuesday's theme of Blue. Granted this is more in the family of teal but really, who's counting? I love this pic of him, he's a cutie patootie!! I only wish you could see his sky high mohawk in this pic. The way he's laying is such a typical Milo pose. He's a ham, and I love him dearly!

RTT: Random Tuesday Thoughts 4.19.11

Another Random Tuesday Thoughts post! Still waiting on The Unmom to return as host, but until then I will be linking up with Jamie from TaterTwins.

Secret's deodarant in the Blueberry White Tea scent smells DELICIOUS. My BFF told me about it. She couldn't stop smelling her pits, and now I can't stop smelling mine! {*sniff*sniff* Mmmm...great stuff.}

Carowinds season passes? Not happening this year. :( I feel bad for the kiddo's. But this manatee/walrus hybrid thing I've got going on here does NOT mix with 90° walks around theme parks.

My husband rocks at everything. I mean it. He rocked the drywall in the dining room, along with the crown and chair molding, he rocked the tile and drywall in the kids bathroom, and he totally rocked our new entry way with more tile. He did it again and rocked new laminate flooring in the dining room. He's amazing.

Today is the second day of Spring Break. Most look forward to Spring break. Any other year I've been among those who enjoy it. This year...it's harder. I'm just not getting the rest I need. But the kids are being great. I've been blessed with great kiddos!!

Tomorrow is a big day! We're having a 3d/4d ultrasound of Grayson! I never got to do one with any of my other babies and have always wanted to have one done. I'm soooo excited to see his {sure to be} adorable face! The kids will be joining us and they're excited too. It will be so fun to do as a family.

All of our pretty flowers are blooming beautifully! Mel planted more in our flower bed. I LOVE them. {Just more points to add to is awesomeness.}

That's all I've got today folks. Have a Random Post you'd like to link-up? Head over and see Jamie at TaterTwins!
