I've got so many things to share and I just haven't had the time to sit down and share them! We took another trip up to PA for Labor Day, and had a great time. We got to stay up there for 4 days which is longer than we have in the past. We celebrated Leah's first birthday with Mel's side of the family with a little party and cake. It was an awesome little mini-vaca. I will add pics soon.
I swear Leah had more birthday celebrations than Paris Hilton! LoL, I guess your first birthday is a big thing though. I don't forsee her second birthday being such a big deal. She is quite the character Miss Leah. She hams it up every chance she gets. Just the past month she has started doing so many new things, and her personality is really starting to shine. She dances, she knows her eyes, ears, mouth, and (her favorite) NOSE! She "winks" which is really just squeezing her eyes shut at you. ^_^ She throws her head back and just laughs, and does the cutest little things every day. Since the big first bday, she has battled her first tummy bug, and survived her first trip to the ER where she was diagnosed with MRSA. She wasn't down in the dumps for long! After 3 days she was back to herself. It takes a lot to hold that little one down. :0) Sometimes I think she was mistaken, and she thinks she turned two because she has been throwing very two-like tantrums. She's a bundle of personality, and I am so excited to see what this next year holds for us!
Hailey Jo has completed her first month of preschool! And the preschool has survived unscathed! LoL She is so smart, and is learning to many things. I am so proud of her. It's not lie that Hailey is stubborn. I tried very hard working with her at home with preschool workbooks, and writing tablets to practice writing her name, drawing shapes...etc. She would try for a few minutes, and then be done with it. At school she doesn't have that choice and she has been doing so well. She comes home every day with the most beautiful drawing, and paintings. She is writing her name so well now. She LOVES her friends and teachers. She helps pack her lunch everyday, and is such a proud preschooler. Biggest accomplishment this month: Hailey is an official bike rider!! NO TRAINING WHEELS!! Woo-hoo! I am sooooo incredibly proud of her. Not many 4 year olds can ride without training wheels. Of course it being Hailey, she is already trying to keep up with the pro's and therefore had her first big crash. I will post pics soon. It was pretty awful, but could have been worse. Busted lip, scraped nose, big 'ol bruise in the middle of her forehead. I am just glad she still has her front teeth! Be on the lookout for pics....
Joshua. Oh Joshua. He is the most awesomest second grader ever. I have never known a sweeter little boy, and he brings me so much pride and joy everyday. He is so, so, so incredibly smart and gifted. He is above grade level in many subjects! He has been tackling chapter books and is on his way through the first Harry Potter. He has the best handwriting for a 2nd grader that I have ever seen. And he can draw SO, so well. I wish we had the money to put him into art or music classes because I just know he would excel. He is so creatively gifted with music and art, I'm jealous! I was looking at him just yesterday, and I swear he looks like her grew 6 inches this past week. He's such a loving boy. He does whatever he can to help with whatever he can. I am excited to see what kind of young man he will grow to be. A little sad at the same time. Sometimes I can't believe my baby boy is 7 years old.
Well that completes this family update!! A few last things, Mel and I will celebrate our second wedding anniversary this month! 10.27 I can't believe it's been 2 years. They have been the best 2 years EVER. I have really enjoyed photographing friends and family the past few months. I can see my skills grow with each shoot. I feel so blessed, and I am honestly the happiest I have ever been. I can't see my life going in any other direction. It's amazing. I have been blessed with the bestest of friends to help me and support me along the way, and the most perfect church. Even through the struggles with finances because of todays economy, I feel so hopeful for what is to come in the next couple of years.
