How can a BLOG be green?! You ask? I asked the SAME thing when I stopped by for my daily visit with Magically Ordinary and saw her post,
"How Green Is Your Blog?". I was completely confused by the title! I mean seriously, it's a BLOG! But yes, even blogs leave their carbon footprint! Based on a study done by Harvard University,an average website or blog causes about 0.02g (0,0008oz.) of carbon dioxide for each visit! A blog or website who is visited 15,000 a month has yearly carbon dioxide emissions of 3,6kg (8lb.)! What neutralizes carbon dioxide? TREES! According to research, our atmosphere can be relieved by an average of 5kg (11lb.) carbon dioxide every year by planting one tree. If an average blog or website causes 3.6kg (8lb.) of carbon dioxide emissions, then planting a tree neutralizes the carbon dioxide emissions of a blog!
I've made my blog green, and you can to!
Just a few easy steps to make it green:
- Write a blog post about the initiative + insert your favourite button
- E-mail the link to your post to CO2-neutral@kaufda.de
- We plant a tree for your blog in Plumas’!
It's that simple!
I want to send a BIG THANKS to
Migically Ordinary for posting about this! If you decide to sign your blog up for this, please send a thank you her way!
