8 Years can FLY...

At this exact moment, 8 years ago, I was holding my 3 minute old first born son. I don't remember being able to see him, I was OUT OF IT, but I remember feeling him. He felt just how you would think a just-born baby would feel. A warm slug. lol

After 29 hours of labor, and almost 3 hours of pushing Joshua literally ripped his way into the world a whopping 9 pounds 11 ounces. We're talking 4th degree tear people. And for poor Joshua, a broken collarbone. {We didn't find out about the broken collarbone until almost 3 weeks later, and then a few weeks after that I was having to go in to cauterize the 4th degree tear that was so bad it wasn't healing properly.}

Add to that the Dr. sewing me up without numbing me, and then telling me if I were more mature I would have ate better and not had had such a big baby. Needless to say it was a pretty traumatizing experience. (Yet not as bad as Hailey's birth believe it or not.)

It was ALL WORTH IT, and I would do it a million times again for him.

He is the SWEETEST kid ever, and was the first to make me "mom". You can read my fave Joshua post by clicking {HERE}.

I love him more than life itself. I have told him for 8 years - and he knows it...its our little saying...he is my heart and soul. He is the reason I'm alive too. I may never know what it is to be a mom, but he made me an aunt and I love him more than anything else in the whole world. I cant imagine loving anyone or anything MORE than him...and Hailey, Brinley, Milo and Leah...they are my world. I am eternally grateful for God's gift of Joshua. I will never forget seeing him come into the world. I never knew my heart could hold so much Love. Happy Birthday Baby boy! you will ALWAYS be Kay Kays baby boy... I love you so much!!!!
