It's Wednesday!!!!

This week seems to be gliding by rather quickly and painlessly. Well, I wouldn't say painlessly because there has been some pain, but figuritively speaking, we'll call it pain free. Sound good?

Good.

Today is Wendesday, that hump day that carries you on over to Thursday, where you only have just ONE more day until the weekend. I am trying to remember what my "theme" for Wednesday used to be, way back when...I can't remember. I am thinking it was something lame like, Whacky Wednesday, or something else that started with W, only because I couldn't think of anything good.

Let's call todays post shameless and aimless. An update of sorts.

Yesterday Leah had her two year well child check up. She is 33 inches tall, and weight 25.8 pounds. She's my little bit. At this age, Joshua could have eaten a child that size. Hailey would have had her for a snack. Leah's appointment went great! She is growing and thriving and super smart and super active. I spared her the flue vaccine and I'm just praying she doesn't get the flue. But if she does, hey, she'll live. She did have to have her finger pricked and I. Was. Amazed. Seriously.

This kid sat on my lap, didn't move a muscle, didn't make a sound. She didn't even jump! The lady pricked her finger and proceeded to "milk" the blood out of it, into a tiny tube. My jaw hit the floor when she didn't shed a single tear. In fact, in Leah fashion, she made the nurse laugh! "It hurts." She said calmly. Then accusingly she looks at the nurse and says, "You make it hurt." . It was funny and cute. Typical Leah.

Joshua has made it from Pre-K all the way through 3rd grade without having any major "projects" that took a lot of time and/or effort. All of a sudden somehow, both Hailey and Joshua have been assigned "big" (little) projects at the same time. Both due in October. I think school is definitely upping the ante. {Whatever that means...}

I am loving doing Hailey's hair every morning. We have mutually decided to grow it out. It's been short for the past year and a half, and you can only do so much with short hair. She's literally gorgeous enough to rock any style, any length. I envy her beauty at times. ^_^ {In the most loving of ways. Duh}

I'm in conundrum over Joshua's hair. He wants it long(er), I want it short(er). We can't agree. I've been settling on a compromise, a little longer than I would like, but a little shorter than what he wants. Part of me wants to say, "When you start paying for your haircuts, you can decide how to cut it.", but part of me thinks that is wrong to say. It is his hair, and he's 8 years old. He is plenty old enough to wear his hair however it pleases him. Why can't I let it go then?! I want him looking his most handsome, he just happens to think his most handsome is looking like a rag-a-muffin.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE long hair on boys. LOVE the skater/surfer look. I think it's the cutest. But Joshua's hair is all wrong for that. He pretty much has straw for hair. It doesn't cooperate. It's WAY too thick and course for surfer/skater hair. Poor kid.

{PS} Joshua lost his 3rd tooth!! (As you can see! ^_^)
