Somewhere along the way, Grayson has made a decision that sleep is NOT a good thing. He is sadly, sadly mistaken. Sleep IS a good thing. Sleep is a necessity, and sleep works best when it can be had longer than 3 hours at a time.
Life is NOT very enjoyable when you're trying to live off of 4 to 5 hours of BROKEN sleep. 4 to 5 hours is bad enough. But I think 4 to 5 hours STRAIGHT would be much more beneficial that a broken 4 to 5 hours. I don't know what sleep ever did to Grayson, and what he has against it. I don't. But I think it's about dang time they work it out and become friends again SUPER quick.
As much as I wish I was, I'm not one of those deranged people that can go function off of a few hours of sleep. I need some SLEEP. I'm talking hardcore sleepage. 8 hours, NO breaks. Just 480 minutes of 100% pure restfulness. You give me 12 hours? I'm Mother Friggin' Teresa. I will come out of my bedroom skipping and whistling a merry little tune.
This sorry excuse for "sleep" I've been getting is turning me into a bitter old shrew.
I'm thisclose to joining my breathren, the mole people.
Here's a pretty accurate visualization for you....
8 hours of sleep:
Alive and well.
12 hours of sleep:
True happiness.
The 4-5 hours of broken sleep I've been getting:
Scary. Pretty much dead.
See what I mean?! I need sleep. I need sleep like fish need water. And I'm feeling like one dried up suffocation fish right now. I really wish I knew what was going on with G! He was sleeping 10 hours a night, sometimes 12! Then we went up to PA and he didn't sleep pretty much the whole time we were there. When we got back he went back to 10-12 hours for about 3 days. Then he began waking up at midnight and at 4am to nurse. He did that for a few weeks. Now suddenly he's staying up until 10pm, waking up at midnight, up at 2am, up at 4 am, and then up for the day at 7am. I'm literally sleeping for about an hour at a time. Kill. Me. Now.
I wish I knew what was going on and how to fix this...
ANY advice? Help? Tips? ANYTHING?! I'm desperate here people...

First off… I HEAR you mama! Loud and clear, unfortunately for both of us!!!
My daughter is 14.5 months and we still have spells like this. I cross my fingers and wish for the 2 wake ups per night (usually 1 and 5) that require 10 mins of nursing and then back to dream land. Others think I'm crazy but 2 reliable and quick wake ups is heaven compared to the 3-6 long ones we get sometimes.
In our case teething and development milestones are the two BIG culprits. She has 4 teeth and each pair took almost 2 months of on again off again brutal sleep. Development activity typically causes brief 3-5 night spurts of bad sleep behaviour.
Sadly, I have no fix, answer, or solution other than that it will pass… eventually. And one day they will be 16 and waking them up before noon will be a chore and a half.
Good luck… I will think of you at 2am, and 4am, and 5:30am
