When we got to Pittsburgh, Memorial Day weekend, I had posted about and interesting convo I had with my sister-in-law. I had mentioned posting about it later on. I wish I had. All I can remember is discussing the various things her dogs and my children had chewed up.
Are there other moms out there that have had this problem?! There's just something wrong with that!
Summer Time
Summer is officially underway. Discovery Place, zoo, Monkey Joes, lesson plans...I'm curious to know how much of what I have planned will actually get done.
I'm totally jonesing for a pool. If my sister didn't live almost 45 minutes away I'd be hitting her up daily for a dip. I think we'll make it a twice a weekly thing??? Maybe???
The kids got total cabin fever last summer so I'm trying to think of ways to avoid that. (Joshua can't play outside on super hot days, unless I'm just feeling like a trip to the ER that day.) So I have a few things planned, but the summer is long! I don't know if all those things will fill up a whole summer. We're all still keeping our fingers crossed for a huge side job to pop up for Mel, so that we can hightail it to the beach. (Nothing wrong with wishing.)
I find it incredibly hard to believe that my baby boy is turning 7 this summer. SEVEN. Going in to the 2nd grade. It's just mind boggling. And Miss Leah, well she is NINE months! By summers end we will be celebrating her first birthday!! :0(
Well just a quick update on what's been going on with the Renwicks.

Why I Regret Letting Hailey Watch The Hot Chick
I haven't posted in a while. There hasn't been any significant happenings to post really. I've been wanting to compile a single post titled, "Movies I Regret Letting Hailey See, and Why". I've got one movie, two reasons down so far, and that didn't seem enough for a blog post to have such title.
So as you can see above, I am calling this, "Why I Regret Letting Hailey Watch The Hot Chick".

- While playing with Leah at her Leapfrog Learning table, Hailey opened a small compartment, and proceeded to tell Leah, "You can put your weed in there!". No, she has NO idea WHAT-so-ever what weed is. If I had been drinking something, I guarantee it would have been shooting from my nasal passageways.
- One morning last week, before school, Joshua picked up an unwilling Leah. While she attempted to squeal, wiggle, and squirm her way from his arms, Hailey ran to her defense, yelling, "Joshua!! Can't you read?!? NO STRANGLING THE DANCERS!!" I was uncomfortably close to peeing a little at that one.
Our PA Trip
Okay, so if you ever visit Pittsburgh, I must insist you stop at a joint called Primanti Brothers. We're talking monster sandwich here guys...all you want loaded between 2 thick slices of fresh Italian bread, piled high with french fries and slaw. Now if you're from the south, don't expect our maynoaisse covered cousin to this northern slaw. This stuff is pretty badass, thick shredded cabbage, with some sort of vinegar based sauce. The fries were awesome. I'll definately have to revisit Primanti Brothers on my next trip up...
Another good Pittsburgh stop, The Pittsburgh Zoo. Besides the brief thunderstorm, and the stench of various feces, it was fun. The kids loved it! I wish I would have posted sooner after we got home, because any funny stories have been forgotten.
PA was a good trip, we were sad to leave after just 2 days.
Hanging with the Renwicks
We made it to PA! After an 8 hour drive, we made it here around 6 am. *Note to self: "Tired" texting is just as fun/ny as drunk texting. Without the hangover. I had many interesting facebook status updates in the middle of the night. One involving a conversation I had with my sister-in-law that I will HAVE to post about, when I have more time. I'm getting lots of good pics, and we're going to the Pittsburg Zoo tomorrow!! Can't wait for those pics! ^_^ We're going to try and fit in as much as we can today and tomorrow. Then it's back home Monday!
Hittin' the road...
I am getting ready to pack for our PA trip! This has been one hell of a week. Emphasis on the HELL. Joshua has finally kicked his fever. His horrible cough is hanging on for dear life though. He's finally stopped telling people he has the swine flue. (Thank God) Last night was one of the worse yet with Leah. I'm hoping it get's better next week. FINALLY got the oil changed. So we're ready to take the 8 hour drive! We'll be leaving tonight and driving thru, so that the kids sleep the whole way. As for the adults, hopefully we can catch up with naps. Short blog today....may elaborate at a later time. Right now, I REALLY got to start packing....
Mmmmmm French Fries
I just love this picture...this little girl has a serious complex carb addiction. If she had teeth I would say she has a killer sweet tooth too. So, I guess she has sweet gums? I love her! 10,12,2,and 4 o'clock wake-up calls and all...
