I am impervious to food.
Eating has no affect on me. I can eat my fill, and 15 to 20 minutes later I'm ready to eat again. I'm not eating large portions, but does portion control really matter when you're eating literally ALL day?! You've seen my Food Journal. I eat all day. Non-stop. And at night it's worse. I will say, I am doing better at night lately than I was doing back when I did the food journal. Instead of chips, cereal, ice cream, olives, debbie cakes, and diet cokes, I'm down to just a bowl of cereal, or a pack of crackers and a glass of milk.
It's frustrating being hungry, like REALLY HUNGRY, 24/7. It's even more frustrating to be REALLY HUNGRY and yet NOTHING sounds good to eat at the time. Except for the most difficult to acquire foods. I.E. a $9 sub from a sandwich shop 45 minutes away. Or something like Coldstone ice cream, when the local Coldstone Creamery closed. {Bastards} Or a Caramel Cappicino Blast from Dunkin Donuts, which you really shouldn't have because really NO one should be drinking that many calories, but more so because you're pregnant and don't need the empty calories and caffeine. Even if it's literally too delicious for words.
Last week I shared some yumminess that was on my mind. I can't help but do the same today:
A #10 From Sub Station II Turkey & {Provolone} Cheese
This sandwich is the SHIZ. It's huge. And cheap. And DELICIOUS. I get mine all the way; onion, tomato, letttuce, oil & vinegar. With a side of the AMAZING pasta salad. All for under $5 too. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Best of all, it's on the way to my OB's office, so I know I'll be getting to have this yummy goodness at least once a month.Boston Market Cornbread Muffins
These little muffins of golden deliciousness are the bees knees. {Whatever that means.} In this case, it means they're FREAKING AWESOME. And oh-so-yummy. Normally I'm REALLY picky about my cornbread. I won't eat it most places, and usually only like it when I make it myself, from Jiffy mix. Well these are awesome. Even better than Jiffy.California Roll Sushi
I know many don't consider this "real" sushi, but based on the definition of SUSHI it is indeed. And it's one of the only sushi I can't eat right now. And even more so, it's downright yummy. And healthy too. I ♥ it.The Beach Club from Jimmy Johns
I blogged about this in my birthday post. It is one of my all time FAVE sandwiches. I won't lie though, it's expensive. {Hear that Jimmy? You need to lower your prices...just saying...} Anyway, yes, it's expensive, but it's so worth it. The beach club has fresh baked turkey breast, provolone cheese, avocado spread, sliced cucumber, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Mmmm...just the avocado spread alone...deliciousness. The problem is, this is the $9 sandwich that's almost 45 minutes away. Okay so 30 minutes on a good day, and it's only $8 plus change, but still. That's JUST for the sammich! And I don't even think it's a large...but like I said it IS worth it. {But seriously, can I get a coupon or something?}Reese's Peanut Butter Egg
Lastly, we have the good old peanut butter egg. Pretty much at every holiday, Reese's comes out with a different shaped peanut butter dessert. At Christmas it's trees, at Valentines is hearts, at Halloween it's pumpkins, and at Easter it's eggs. I don't know why, but these "shapes" taste SO much better than the original cups. I think it has something to do with the PB to chocolate ratio. I made the dire, dire mistake of buying a bag of mini Reese's peanut butter eggs at Sam's Club this past Monday. It was quite possibly one of the stupidest things I've ever done. I can't stop eating them. And when I'm not eating them, I'm thinking about them. Or blogging about them.So there you have it. I can't help but notice that two of the five foods listed are turkey and provolone sandwiches. Although these particular sandwiches are VERY different.
Well it's off to lunch for me...and then seconds, and then a snack, and then seconds on the snack, and then HOPEFULLY it will be dinner time...
{PS Just FYI miraculously I have managed to eat like a food addicted hog, all the while not putting on a single pound. I lost 30 lb's. from the hyperemesis, and fluctuated for a while, but now I'm holding steady at that 30 lb weight loss. Which actually means I'm still losing, just at a slow rate, because I'm gaining placenta, fluid, and baby weight, but not lb's.}
