Summer has hit. Hit so hard. So, so hard. And of course, just as the late 90's hit, with heat indexes in the triple digits, my a/c in the van goes out. OF COURSE. Luckily, we know the issue, and it's an $8 fix. Unluckily, it's a 2 to 3 day project. Last week I didn't leave the house unless I HAD to. I planned on doing the same this week. But then of course I ran out of meter strips and my diabetes medication. Oh, and needed to get my kiddo's teachers flowers for the cute vases we made them. So I ventured out. I blame Walgreens. If they were able to have my meds ready at 6am, I could've had left before the scorching temps hit. But no. They couldn't have my shiz done until noon. So of course I was out in the midst of the hottest temps we've had so far this year.
It was SO. HOT.
It seriously took all I had to not drive into oncoming traffic. I wanted to cry. I was scared for Leah in the back because the rear van windows don't roll down. {I kept telling myself that there was once a time when cars didn't have a/c and that Leah wasn't going to die of heat exhaustion.}
By the time I made it home, I literally peeled my clothes from my body. Yuck. Gag. Yuck. I threw on a tee and a pair of Mel's boxers, turned the living room ceiling fan on high, and plopped into the recliner. Want a double gross factor? A couple hours later when I was collecting dirty clothes to do a load of laundry, my jeans were STILL WET. Ew. Ew. Ew.
I am seriously not leaving my house again until Thursday morning when I have a doctor appointment. And I'm HIGHLY considering either borrowing a car, or asking for a ride. Because pregnant and triple digit heat indexes DO NOT MIX. Do you know how bad I will stink by the time I rolled up into my docs office? EW. I could not go into public feeling that gross.
