Do you Pinterest? {If you do, then you know. You soooo know.} Pinterest is a place to catalog things you love, like a virtual pinboard. Of awesomeness. I had heard the name once or twice, and then suddenly I was seeing it and hearing it everywhere I looked. Bloggers were blogging about it, tweeters were tweeting about it, friends were facebooking about it, people were talking about it. I took a glance or two, but didn't really get what was so great about it. I didn't really get what it was about. But I wanted to. So of course I browsed on over to the site.
I was totally bummed and a little put off that I had to wait for an invite to join in on the fun. What? I'm not good enough? It's invitation only? Well Pinterest can shove it! I pretty much forgot about it. Until a few days went past and I got my invitation. With a huge puffy sigh I went ahead and signed in, creating my account. I had to see what this was about. It was killing me. No lie. No exaggeration. I spent the next 4 hours glued to my laptop pinning away to my hearts content. I couldn't stop!
Next, I moved onto uploading my own pins. I don't know about you, but I'm a habitual right-clicking saver. If I see something I like, I save a pic of it, in a folder. I had a HUGE folder full of smaller folders of categories of all things I loved. Finally I got what Pinterest was, and what it was about. Why save all these things to my computer? When I can share them, and store them someplace else! I started uploading and didn't stop until all my files were uploaded. Then I deleted them from my computer and it was SO NICE freeing up all that space on my hard drive!
Pinterest has become one of my favorite sites. Now, instead of right click and saving things I love, I just pin them! I also get on the Pinterest site once a day or so to browse what others are pinning. I love that I can "like" others pins, repin them, comment on them, follow others pins, etc. It's pretty friggin' rad.
I am now a self proclaimed pinhead!
