A reminder, IT'S WORTH IT

Life's about to change up in heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeee!!! {<---Said in best Oprah voice, carrying the "here" on for an obnoxious and obscene amount of time.}

Our last babyless weekend is coming to an end...well. Almost. It's the afternoon so the actual "coming to an end" will not be until at least evening hours. But none-the-less...it's the last lazy lazerton Sunday I will have for some time. Because babies don't allow adults to be lazy lazertons.

Have you ever stopped to think about how smug babies are? The sad thing is, it starts IN UTERO. When they're what some people like to refer to as fetus', not even real babies. {They're real babies to me.} Yes, in utero fetus' are SMUG. Smug as shiz. They sit in your uterus all high and mighty, toying with your emotions. "Is that a contraction???", "Am I leaking fluid???", "Oh my gosh is the baby moving enough?", while they float around with smug little smiles all comfortable. They run the show, it's not your body anymore, it's THEIRS. It's their holy vessel bringing them into the world. Do they treat is as a holy vessel? No. They treat it like a free bus ride, and not a nice bus, a rusty bus with gum covered seats and no a/c. They have no respect. Finally when the time comes that they decide to put you out of your misery and go through the whole birthing thing, well HA! The pain is only beginning. {Some little ones are so smug they refuse to leave the floaty comforts of your uterus unless physically forced to do so.}

Then they're born, and they're here, and you're soooo in love with them. And they're beautiful, just beautiful. And you're SO glad to have your body back. But you're sadly mistaken. Because that body is still theirs. And they're HUNGRY. Which means nursing every 2 hours, and sleepless nights, and if they want to be held your SOL in the hand department. You have no free hands. They are now full of BABY. And diapers, and swaddling blankets, and pacifiers. You are now at the beck and call of the floaty little fetus turned crying baby.

Babies are more proof that love is simply an amazing thing. The love that gets you through noxious fuming bed farts from your husband, and morning breath kisses, gets you through cracked nipples, and poopy blow outs. {Then it gets you through screaming Target isle tantrums, and eventually the mouthy teen years.}

There's no coincidence that babies are the cutest things ever. It just melts your heart that much more making you love them that much more and therefore put up with that much more.

The good thing is that smugness turns into dependency and those little buggers love you back just as much as you love them. And that my dear, makes it allll worth it.

I had to compile this post to remind me that it's about to get hard. Hard times FOUR, because not only do I have my needy demanding newborn coming, but I will have 3 other needy and demanding children to cater to. But it will be worth it, because they make me cards that say things like, "WOW I LOVE MY MOM" and they'll tell you that when you turn it upside down it says, "MOM MY LOVE I WOW" which is the coolest ever. And they look up to you. And even when they're being obnoxious little A-holes they so just want to please you and make you proud.

And they give the bestest kisses ever. And make your heart soar so freaking high. You don't even know...

So yea, it's going to get hard, but it's going to get more awesome too. So incredibly awesome.
