Tangaroos and Piles of Poo

Leah: Mom, do you remember the animal on the TV that had the baby? It was a tangaroo, right? Was it a tangaroo?

I was in the midst of a migraine and all I could do was mumble a few, "Uh-huhs" to appease her. I really wasn't quite paying attention to her.

Leah: Mom, you know what I'm talking about, the animals, the animal that had the baby, I think it was tangaroo...

Me: Yes baby I remember...{actually, I was lying, I had no idea what she was talking about and assumed she was talking about Kanga and Roo.}

Leah: Welllllll....the baby looked like a pile of poop.

For obvious reasons, that caught my attention.

Me: What? What looked like a pile of poop?

Leah: {sighing a very exasperating sigh} THE TANGAROO BABY MOM!! Don't you remember?!?! The tangaroo on the TV, it had a baby. The baby really did look like a pile of poop.

Me: Do you mean the llama, Leah? Is that what you're talking about? The llama that had the baby on the TV?

Leah: YES! That's it...I'm sorry, I thought it was a tangaroo, yes, it was a llama. The llama had a baby that looked like a chunk of poop. It was like, "pffffft" and the baby plopped out like poop. Is that how babys look like when they're born? Like a chunk of poop?

Me: No Leah...well...mostly no...

What else could you really say to that?
