Tomorrow marks 1 month of pricking my finger 4 times a day, changing my diet, counting carbs, and depriving myself of 99% of my cravings.
1 month since I said "So long..." to crunchy cereal floating in ice cold milk, scrumptiously moist cupcakes covered in heavenly icing, and hearty and filling pastas.
1 month since my finger tips didn't ache. {That's 120 pricks under my belt by the way.}
This feels like a grand accomplishment, yet at the same time it feels effortless. The month has literally flown by. And I'm not complaining! I can only imagine that the next month will fly by as well.
Again, I can't say it enough, I am SO, so, so, so, SOOOO grateful that this is temporary, and not something I have to do for the rest of my life! {Yet, anyway.} I feel like every time I've complained I've slapped someone with Type I or Type II diabetes in their face.
I'm also SO blessed to not have to take {multiple} daily injections of insulin. I've been coasting by with just one teeny tiny little pill at night!
So really, can I complain? Not in the slightest. But will I be ever-so-joyful when it's over? You betchya! I only wish I could give that day to every diabetic.
